WindPower Energy was constructing a 200MW wind farm in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia. They needed to transport 36 wind turbine blades (78 meters each) from Tianjin Port to the project site, a distance of 600 km through mountainous terrain and rural roads.

Meicheng engineered a complete heavy-haul transport solution including route survey, bridge reinforcement, multi-province permitting, and specialized blade-transport trailers with police escort.

Key Actions

Route survey and engineering: Conducted a 5-day route survey identifying 23 restricted bridges, 8 narrow village roads, and 12 critical turns; designed bypass routes and reinforcement plans
Bridge reinforcement: Installed temporary steel support structures on 7 bridges that could not support 25-ton axle loads
Multi-province permits: Obtained oversized transport permits from Tianjin, Hebei, and Inner Mongolia transport authorities within 15 days
Specialized trailers: Deployed 3 blade-transport extendable trailers (up to 80m) with hydraulic steering for tight turns and 360-degree blade rotation capability
Police escort and traffic control: Coordinated with local traffic police for escort vehicles at all 12 critical turns and 8 village passages
Convoy scheduling: Transported blades in convoys of 3, with each convoy departing at night to minimize traffic disruption
