Customer Pain Points and Solutions

Export customs declaration errors are the leading cause of shipment delays at Chinese ports. Incorrect HS code classification triggers customs holds, missing certificates of origin result in duty penalties at EU and US destinations, and late ISF filings lead to USD 5,000 fines for US-bound cargo.

Pain Point: HS Misclassification

Incorrect HS code classification is found in approximately 15% of first-time export declarations. This triggers customs inspection, delays vessel loading, and can result in penalty fees or anti-dumping duty exposure at destination.

Solution: Pre-Booking HS Review

Meicheng reviews HS code classification at booking, before the declaration is filed. Classification is checked against the latest China Customs tariff schedule and destination country import requirements, reducing declaration errors to under 2%.

Pain Point: Late ISF Filing

US Customs requires ISF 10+2 filing 24 hours before vessel loading. Late or incomplete filings incur USD 5,000 per violation and may trigger CBP examination at the US port.

Solution: Origin-Side Filing

Meicheng files ISF 10+2 at the China origin port at least 24 hours before vessel loading, using shipper and consignee data verified at booking. Filing confirmation is provided before cargo departs.
