Customer Pain Points and Solutions

Transporting oversized cargo from China to Europe and North America involves engineering complexity that standard freight forwarders cannot handle. Wind turbine blades, transformers, and industrial equipment require route surveys, multi-axle trailers, and heavy-lift cranes at both origin and destination ports.

Pain Point: Route Restrictions

Oversized cargo exceeding 3.5 m width or 50 tons cannot travel standard highway routes. Bridge load limits, power line clearances, and tunnel heights vary across transit countries, and an unsurveyed route can result in cargo being stranded mid-transit.

Solution: Route Survey

Meicheng conducts comprehensive route surveys before departure, covering bridge load capacity, power line clearance, width restrictions, and turning radius. Survey reports are issued with permit applications to highway authorities, and alternate routes are pre-planned.

Pain Point: Port Handling

Not all ports have heavy-lift crane capacity. Cargo exceeding 100 tons requires heavy-lift vessel charter and shore crane coordination, which must be booked weeks in advance.

Solution: Port Network

Meicheng coordinates heavy-lift cranes up to 1,000 tons at major Chinese and European breakbulk terminals. Loading plans and lashing designs are engineered before cargo arrives, and discharging supervision is provided at destination.

Pre-departure route engineering: Every route is surveyed for bridge load, power line clearance, and turning radius before any truck moves
1,000-ton crane network: Shore-side heavy-lift crane coordination at origin and destination ports eliminates port handling bottlenecks
Lashing engineering certified: Loading plans and lashing designs are prepared by certified marine surveyors for sea and road transport
Permit coordination: Highway transport permits are filed with authorities in China and transit countries, reducing border delays
Project cargo insurance: All-risk coverage for high-value project cargo with claims payable at destination

Company Advantages

Meicheng was established in 2008 and has 16 years of international freight forwarding experience. The company operates a 12,000 m² logistics operations center in Shenzhen with 86 full-time staff including 12 certified project logistics engineers. Meicheng holds NVOCC qualification (MOC-NV-09782), IATA CASS accreditation, ISO 9001:2015 certification, and is a registered customs broker.

The company maintains carrier partnerships with COSCO, Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, and DB Schenker for rail freight. Export destinations cover 42 countries across Europe (Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, UK, Spain, Italy) and North America (United States, Canada, Mexico). Pre-sales support includes route feasibility assessment and cost estimation within 48 hours. After-sales service covers delivery tracking, customs issue resolution, and claims management with a 24-hour response guarantee.

Client cases include wind turbine blade transport from Tianjin to Hamburg for a German energy company, transformer delivery from Shanghai to Houston for a US utility, and a 180-ton reactor vessel from Guangzhou to Rotterdam for a Dutch chemical plant.

Exhibitions, Quality Inspection, and Process

Industry Exhibitions

Meicheng participates in the China International Freight Forwarding Conference, Transport Logistic Munich, and Breakbulk Europe exhibitions annually. These events maintain carrier relationships and track regulatory changes in transit countries.

Quality Inspection Process

Pre-shipment cargo condition survey with photo documentation
Container or vessel loading supervision by certified surveyors
Lashing and securing inspection against IMO/IMDG standards
Post-loading weight verification and axle load compliance check

Project Cargo Workflow

Step 1 - Feasibility: Cargo dimensions, weight, origin, and destination reviewed; transport mode and equipment selected
Step 2 - Route Survey: Highway and port route surveyed; permits filed; alternate routes identified
Step 3 - Loading Plan: Engineering team designs loading sequence, lashing points, and crane deployment
Step 4 - Transport Execution: Cargo loaded under supervision; GPS-tracked transport to destination port
Step 5 - Destination Handling: Discharging supervised; customs cleared; final delivery to site

Buyer FAQ

What is the minimum shipment size for heavy-haul transport?: There is no minimum weight or volume requirement. Heavy-haul service is engaged per project, starting from a single oversized piece. The booking unit is one transport project, not a container.
How is the transport route determined for oversized cargo?: A route survey is conducted before departure covering bridge load capacity, power line clearance, tunnel height, and turning radius. Survey results determine the transport route, equipment configuration, and required permits.
What packaging is used for heavy-haul cargo?: Oversized cargo is typically shipped without container packaging. Steel cradles, wooden skids, or custom frames are used depending on cargo shape. Lashing chains, wire ropes, and friction mats secure the cargo to the trailer or vessel deck.
What payment terms are available?: 30% advance by T/T with 70% balance against copy of bill of lading. For established project clients, L/C at sight is accepted. Project cargo insurance premium is quoted separately.
Can you provide pre-shipment samples or inspection reports?: Pre-shipment cargo condition surveys with photo documentation are included. For equipment requiring factory acceptance testing (FAT), inspection coordination can be arranged at the manufacturing site before loading.
Can we use our own logo or branding on documentation?: Yes. House bill of lading, switch B/L, and neutral documentation are available. Cargo documents can be issued under the consignee's nominated party.
Do you offer OEM or ODM logistics arrangements?: For manufacturers shipping under OEM arrangements, Meicheng provides neutral forwarder service with blind shipping, confidential documentation, and direct delivery to the end buyer without disclosing factory identity.
