Customer Pain Points and Solutions

EPC turnkey project logistics manages the entire transport lifecycle for engineering, procurement, and construction projects. The cargo is high-value, oversized, and time-critical: wind turbines, transformers, chemical reactors, and industrial equipment must arrive at remote construction sites in the correct sequence aligned to the construction schedule.

Pain Point: Delivery Sequence Misalignment

EPC construction schedules require equipment to arrive in a specific sequence. Early delivery causes on-site storage problems; late delivery stops construction. A single delayed component can halt the entire project.

Solution: Critical Path Scheduling

Meicheng aligns transport delivery to the construction critical path. Each shipment is sequenced to arrive when the site is ready to receive it. Real-time milestone tracking with a client-accessible dashboard ensures visibility.

Pain Point: Multi-Country Transit Complexity

Project cargo transiting through multiple countries requires customs coordination at each border. Different regulations, documentation requirements, and inspection procedures can delay transit by weeks.

Solution: Multi-Country Customs Coordination

Meicheng provides customs clearance coordination across all transit countries. TIR transit, temporary import, and project-specific customs procedures are handled by a dedicated team assigned from planning to delivery.

Buyer FAQ

What is the minimum project size for EPC turnkey logistics?: EPC turnkey service is engaged per project, starting from a single oversized equipment shipment. There is no minimum value, but the service is most economical for projects involving multiple shipments or oversized cargo requiring dedicated coordination.
How is the transport schedule aligned to construction?: A critical path schedule is developed from the construction plan. Each shipment is sequenced to arrive when the site is ready to receive it. The client-accessible milestone dashboard shows real-time status against the schedule.
What packaging is required for EPC project cargo?: Project cargo is typically shipped without container packaging. Steel cradles, wooden skids, or custom frames are used. For sea transport, lashing chains and wire ropes secure cargo to the vessel deck. Packaging is designed per cargo profile and transport mode.
What payment terms are available?: 30% advance by T/T with 70% balance against copy of bill of lading or delivery confirmation. For large EPC projects, milestone-based payment terms and L/C at sight are available subject to credit review.
Can you provide pre-shipment inspection or samples?: Pre-shipment cargo condition surveys with photo documentation are included. For equipment requiring factory acceptance testing (FAT), inspection coordination can be arranged at the manufacturing site. Stowage plans and route survey reports are provided before transport.
Can we use our own brand or logo on project documentation?: Yes. Project documentation can be issued under the EPC contractor's or end buyer's nominated party. Switch B/L and neutral documentation are available for confidential project arrangements.
Do you offer OEM or ODM logistics for project cargo?: For manufacturers shipping under OEM arrangements within EPC projects, Meicheng provides neutral forwarder service with blind shipping. Factory identity is not disclosed on transport documentation, and cargo can be delivered directly to the construction site.
